The restaurants in Makrigialos are considered to be among the best on Crete, serving real Cretan food cooked with local produce, seasonal ingredients and freshly caught fish.

The properties…
Makrigialos Touristiki AE own five properties superbly positioned right beside the old harbour at Makrigialos in Eastern Crete. Two of the properties, 'The White House' and 'The Double House', were derelict ruins until they were bought by Gunnar Strømsholm who then spared no expense in transforming them into the two wonderfully comfortable holiday homes that they are today. The third house, now known as 'The Winter House', is actually a fairly new building carefully constructed behind a much older façade, while the 'Balcony' and 'Harbour' apartments are both situated in a recently renovated 1970's building. In addition to the five harbour side properties, Makrigialos Touristiki AE also has a sixth, larger newly built villa 'Casa dei Mezzo' with swimming on the hillside overlooking the villiage of Makrigialos.
Whilst each property has its own unique and authentic Greek character you will also find that each one comes fully equipped with all the modern comforts required for a superb holiday.
Every property includes…
- Luxury accommodation (please see individual property pages for full details of living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms).
- Makrigialos's old harbour is just the other side of the very quiet and narrow road in front of the properties. It takes approximately five minutes to walk to the beach or shops, and the nearest restaurant is even closer.
- Air conditioning (also provides heating in the cooler months).
- A fully equipped kitchen, complete with fridge-freezer, standard cooker kettle and coffee percolator.
- A dishwasher (except Balcony Apartment).
- A well-stocked larder ready for your arrival. This includes bread, butter, cheese, milk, yoghurt, jam, biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, fruit, soft drinks, a bottle of wine and matches.
- Washing/drying machine and iron (except Balcony Apartment).
- Satellite colour television, DVD, portable radio and a cassette/CD player.
- Telephone (Internet access is available via the telephone socket for guests who bring their own computers).
- Maid service three times per week.
- Burglar alarm.
